ÉGÉRIES

Twelve singers, the artistic director of Les Rugissants, Xavier Brossard-Ménard, accompanied by a string quartet:​ Égéries proposes music that put women who are composers or lyricists at the forefront.

Pieces from all walks of life (classical, folk and popular) present the women's perspective in the first person. Composers Amy Beach, Rona Nadler, Amélie Fortin, Marie-Claire Saindon and Kathleen Allen reign supreme in this show by adjoining rare works for women's choir by André Caplet (Septet for string quartet and women's choir) and by Bohuslav Martinu (three sacred songs for violin and women's choir).
